I have been longing for the Spring. And so have the florists, because you can get irises at most locations that sell flowers, including the grocery store. I was gifted with a beautiful bouquet of irises and carnations from my husband. They have served as inspiration for photography and encaustic painting - “1000 Petals” series: Tulips I, Carnations and Irises I-III, and, “Blue Rain Iris,” ” Lemon Sun Iris,” and ” Rose Sunrise Iris.”
The vibrant red carnations, deep green foliage, and rich purples of the irises are wonderful.
